Starts with rough idle then revs up

CASE CLOSED!! :)
Received my new/refurbished 2.2l PCM programmed with my VIN from ARES Technologies about an hour ago via UPS. Swapped it in immediately and started the engine. No stumble or stalling. Put the Air Conditioning on and pulled out and stopped at the corner....no stalling. Took it out for a drive to warm it up and it drove like a new car!! Got onto the highway and stomped it and no low hollow sucking sounds this time just pure smooth acceleration. Shifts are now smart and deliberate. It's incredible.! After a long, tedious and costly troubleshooting path.....success!!
Thanks for all the suggestions. As it turns out the Chevy dealership noticed that the engine block looked newer than the transmission and said it would be worthwhile to spend an additional hour to verify whether or not the engine had been changed. Turns out it was. The factory 2.4l was replaced with a 2.2l but the PCM/ECM was not updated or changed. I recommend ARES Technologies for anyone needing a custom PCM/ECM.
Cheers everyone...I am a happy HHR driver now :)
