Steering Angle Sensor?

Steering Angle Sensor?
2010 LS automatic
I just replaced my Steering Intermediate Shaft after feeling a knock when turning the wheel. Seems to have fixed the issue.
Now I have a new issue. I'm getting the ESC ACTIVE every time a make a slight right turn.
I think, based on reading through posts here, that maybe I've created a problem with the steering angle sensor.
Is the steering angle sensor that flimsy black plastic thing I bumped while removing the bolt under the dash for the shaft? If I disconnect it and reconnect, will it have to be programmed at the dealership? ANything specific I should look for on this part?
Alternatively, the shaft boot went in a little wonky. If it's not properly seated, could that cause the issue instead? I didn't think it was putting any pressure on the shaft, but maybe I'm wrong.
Any help or guidance would be greatly appreciated!
Thank you,

Try a battery lobotomy, a full 30 minutes with the battery negative connection removed
while that sits disconnect the connection you speak of under the dash .
Do not move the steering wheel while the battery is disconnected.

Nexteer makes FCA do that. Let me check next week. It resets the angle sensor.
It's much less warranty than a Gear! Our stupid warranty system pays by parts replaced, and we make it hard for techs to do stuff like that.
