my sterio has a mind of its own when its on 1 tweeter works when u dime lights above it shuts off remote works only when ingnition is on what can it be

the small red wire that feeds the battery controls the radio, check that. check the fuse panel ,left side of passenger footwell, checks those fuses.

regular or upgraded radio with small amp in the back

 

Possible solutions:

1) Have the sterio swapped out for a stereo
2) Dime lights are useless. Upgrade to dome lights.
3) Remote only works when ignition is on... battery in remote is likely too weak. While in the ignition, it's a LOT closer to the receiver than from outside.
