Sub shaft removal(CV axle

So, for my 09 LT i have 2 new CV axles. These did not come with the sub axles. Its been said i would have to put the sub axles fron my old CV axles into my new axles. Has anyone ever done this? Id like to find out how to do so. My other question is do both left and right sub axles come out attached to the CV axles when i pull them?

Here is one thread on the subject: https://www.chevyhhr.net/forums/driv...l-issue-60751/

I used a muffler clamp on the stub and tapped with a hammer once, the other time I borrowed a bearing separator.

When I changed my axles, they both came out without the stub shaft, whew, lucky!
now, remember, don’t remove both axles at once.

CV Axles

Thank you
I was under the impression that the stub axles both came out in order to transfer them to the new ones. I will do them carefully one at a time. Hopefully i will be as lucky as you were.
