Regarding the different lengths, I've just added a mention that one should measure theirs before ordering replacements. I'm not sure if the 12" ones were ever ORIGINAL equipment, but where installed as replacements. Regardless measure once, order once. Wait..... if one wanted to compensate for one side of their car being heavier than the other, I guess you could mismatch them, putting the longer one on the heavy side?
Cool! I am cursed with a journalism (Editor) background and can't help correcting pretty much everything. It's ok, whatever you think, I have been called worse. My only justification is that I was doing it back before they all just started fabricating news to stir people up like they do now.

As to the bar, it was really easy to measure it after George pointed me to it.

Cranked the wheel hard right and was able to hold my tape measure up at arm's length to easily see it hit the "less than 10-inch" mark, which is as close as you need to get.

I'm replacing mine this weekend (bought Advanced Auto links because I was in a pinch and one of them didn't last 6 weeks). I ordered Moog though RockAuto and they specified FE1, FE5, etc. with most part numbers.

The links should be the same FE1 FE5, however these days nobody has been consistent when specifying FE5 parts. Whatever the part number the center to center is 9.86 inches.

Moog K750012 are the correct links for the FE1, FE3 HHR suspension, I've installed them in both and they fit and work the same as OEM.

Moog K750428 are the correct links for the FE5 suspension

But klick on fitment and somehow the FE5 was available from 2006 to 2011?

Go figure!
