Sync tire pressure system
Hi;
Thanks for the response.
Battery has not been dead nor disconnected prior to the units quitting.
The working sensors are the old ones. The new one probably works but is not being received. There is also one old one that quite working after the new one was installed. I guess as a result of the shop trying to program but don't know that.
One key fob came with the car. The other one is aftermarket. The one that came with the car does not have GM marking.
I have no idea what was replaced prior to my getting the car. Is there a way to tell if the RCDLR has been replaced?
A question though: Can a good shop reprogram or does it have to be a dealer?
Thanks.
Rich

So all 4 sensors worked when you got the car. Then first, the right front showed dashes, so you had it replaced. Then the right rear showed dashes, so you had that replaced also. But neither replacement changed what shows in the DIC.
So donbrew hinted at this - if the positions weren't learned correctly before any of this started, then you might not have replaced the faulty sensors, but the good ones.
I believe the relearn starts at the sensor that the computer thinks is in the left front position, but if that sensor is no good, then the relearn cannot happen. But the sensor that your car's computer thinks is left front seems to be working, so that shouldn't keep you from at least starting the relearn.
So that leaves the fob as the most likely culprit, both fobs seem to be aftermarket. And that would also explain why installing the new sensors didn't change anything, because the positions were wrong, because no one could do a relearn.

It won't go into learn mode at all. If it did and the driver front had a dead battery it would not proceed.
If one of the fobs worked before it should still.
My 2008 had the dead TPMS thing, It would not get into learn, but all 4 wheels registered, just didn't know which was where. But, the batteries were only a year old.
Getting new firmware flashed to the RCDLR fixed it. A computer with the program and interface and access to GM Techline is needed.
