Hi all, just got my first Chevy after owning Fords for most of my life, and I picked up a 2011 HHR 2.4L two days ago. It was a steal with 156K on it and so I am NOT surprised that the VERY NEXT DAY I got an engine code P0700 and P0742.
I can't freaking locate any ATF dipstick anywhere. From what I gather by using the search tool, it should be an easy replacement. But I can't find a part number and I don't even know where it is located in order to replace it. I tried MANY searches here in the Forum hoping for a HOW-TO video or something.
Autozone and O'Reilly don't have any solenoids available for my HHR. Do I have to go through a dealer? Ebay? Amazon?
I am not used to these new types of cars - I own a 67 Mustang and just recently buried my '92 Exploder (RIP). Hence the HHR LOL. I've worked on engines but never a transmission.

No dipstick. Just a fill port and a level check plug.
As far as the solenoids being easy. Not really. They are internal and you have to remove the side cover to get to them. The side cover doesn't come off without dropping a mount or something.
Someone had a write up or thread about it recently. If you can't find it with a Search, someone should be able to post a link for you. Stay tuned.

I don't really have any personal experience with the auto trans since my SS is a 5 speed manual.
the problem might simply be a wiring harness issue, please read problems and solutions.
Yes you have to support the engine and drop front cradle down a bit for clearance, fastsuv and I just spent a few hours looking at this issue on his 2007 LS automatic.
