Temperature Gauge????
Temperature Gauge????
I've got a 2006 LT, with the 2.4l
This morning as I pulled into the parking lot at work I noticed the temperature gauge was not registering. I toggled through to the get the temperature on the LED dash readout - and it showed nothing at all.
I've check the coolant level, it's fine.
I then checked the oil, no "milk" in the oil (thankfully)
Do I have a bad sensor somewhere?
Any help would really be appreciated.

Very much appreciated.
A faulty thermostat will cause the gauge not to register?
Do you happen to have the part numbers for the water pump, and radiator hoses? I figure that while I'm at it I should go ahead and change them all out too.

Sure, a stuck open thermostat could keep the gauge from registering, but not the DIC reading. It should also result in a DTC. You should also scan for codes.
For Pete’s sake, do not change a perfectly good water pump because of this. Hoses should be inspected regularly and replaced when needed.
If your coolant is 5 years old or older change it! A bad thermostat will give you —— on the DIC and possibly code P0128. For the age and cost you can change the temperature sending unit. Part numbers are in this thread

bare in mind some these can be obsolete . Does your 2006 , 2.4 litre have the external oil cooler, different hoses for that set up

If you reset error codes your display will work for a short time, but you should replace thermostat as stated above. Been there, also when the temp does not display, it will lock out the air conditioner and run the fan all the time.
The water pump is not something to change "while you're in there" changing the thermostat. Completely different job.
I could see maybe changing the hoses while you're there, but even then, removing hoses from the thermostat housing is not necessary to change the thermostat.
