thermostat

the thermostat blew at 40,000 i replaced it

Unless you just hate dealerships or love installing stats, next time you can get Chevy to replace it. It's covered by Power Train Warranty.

My thermostat went a few weeks ago @ about 58k...and it just happened to do it at the track



Old thermostat. You can see the seal just came apart. Coolant temp would not go back up to operating temp on the way home. Dropped to 160ish a few times on the highway.





New and old thermostat



I also checked out this thread before replacing it. Good write up. Only took 30 minutes to replace.

and wait for an appointment, then wait for it to get done after driving to get there, half day gone plus half days pay?
