ok...i put the dye in the coolant earlier this week and checked it last night...there was no sign of a leak anywhere and nothing in the exhaust pipe...i searched everywhere...under the hood...under the car...the car is clean...now what? i don't want to wait for the t-stat to go out again because it might be late...

If the coolant fill bottle is always going down it's got to be going somewhere.

i know...but where...i'm pulling the spark plugs tomorrow morning to see if any of them are clean...but wouldn't something have been glowing with the black light if it was burning coolant? i spent a good 10 minutes looking at the area around the bottle and directly under it...and nothing was glowing or even faintly glowing...

I still think it's burning it.

There are only 2 options..

1. Leak
2. Burn

If it isn't leaking, I bet it's burning the anti-freeze & the dye. These motors burn so hot, they can even burn oil with little notice out the tail pipe.

You won't see the dye in the tailpipe. Does any show up on the dipstick? If not, you have a head gasket leaking or a cracked head or block.

With the engine cold, take the radiator cap off, fill it full to the top, leave the cap off and start the engine. See if any bubbles come out.

One way or another, the head has to come off.

Which in turns means you WILL be putting on a new head gasket.

I just went thru this with my bro's Nox.

I tried to pull the spark plugs but was unable to get to them...so i'm just going to wait for it to go out again...and I know it will...and I'm going to have the dealer do more looking...if it ends up being within the engine then it should end up being covered under the p/t warranty...but the trans is starting to make a rattling noise so I think it's going to either die or blow up...it's all just a matter of time...I'm just really upset about the enitre situation because I love my car...but I may have to give in and get rid of it...

Ok so i've been having the same problem everything was fine for the first few months then stuff started going wrong, from speaker sound going out to the car over heating to the point of blowing head gaskets even despite my keeping coolant in it and oil changed... nothing has worked im into my 4th or 5th thermostat...I love this type of car but im at my wits end w the thermostat having just been changed in sept of 2020 , AFTER just having had the whole darn engine rebuilt...1000$ easy...(not easy) im depressed, im upset and a little surprised this isnt a recall issue in gen its kinda serious when ur engine works to kill itself every time u use it....and being that it is a car, which to my understanding is supposed to go places and do stuff...yea. wth man lol HELP . Intake manifold air filters and belts have all been replaced , just what am i missing?!?! Im with you gal! lol
