Thermostat issue
ok...i put the dye in the coolant earlier this week and checked it last night...there was no sign of a leak anywhere and nothing in the exhaust pipe...i searched everywhere...under the hood...under the car...the car is clean...now what? i don't want to wait for the t-stat to go out again because it might be late...
i know...but where...i'm pulling the spark plugs tomorrow morning to see if any of them are clean...but wouldn't something have been glowing with the black light if it was burning coolant? i spent a good 10 minutes looking at the area around the bottle and directly under it...and nothing was glowing or even faintly glowing...
I still think it's burning it.
There are only 2 options..
1. Leak
2. Burn
If it isn't leaking, I bet it's burning the anti-freeze & the dye. These motors burn so hot, they can even burn oil with little notice out the tail pipe.

after some talking with the guys at work i am going to be pulling the spark plugs this weekend to see if they are clean...if they are then i will know what is going on...if they aren't...then i don't know what else to do but to wait for it to go out agian...
You won't see the dye in the tailpipe. Does any show up on the dipstick? If not, you have a head gasket leaking or a cracked head or block.
With the engine cold, take the radiator cap off, fill it full to the top, leave the cap off and start the engine. See if any bubbles come out.
One way or another, the head has to come off.

I tried to pull the spark plugs but was unable to get to them...so i'm just going to wait for it to go out again...and I know it will...and I'm going to have the dealer do more looking...if it ends up being within the engine then it should end up being covered under the p/t warranty...but the trans is starting to make a rattling noise so I think it's going to either die or blow up...it's all just a matter of time...I'm just really upset about the enitre situation because I love my car...but I may have to give in and get rid of it...
i switched dealers after the second replacement because the service advisor talked to me like i was a stupid girl who doesn't know anything about cars...which i'm not...the dealer that it is at now is completed baffled...they opened a claim with chevy and there is no record of any other car having this same problem over and over..he said they have checked everything obvious and not obvious...the dealer it is at now one that i fully trust so i know they are doing everything they can...
