2.2 started VVT in 2009, all 2.4 and 2.0 had VVT. That kit is fine, the camshaft sprocket bolts and sprockets are surplus.

From my research this morning, sounds like many don't recommend or don't replace the sprockets? Should I buy a kit without the sprockets at all?

I switched my cart to the deluxe version, that includes everything. But it is much more money. Would go the cheaper route if that is what most people do,

Especially don't even think about balance chain sprockets! They are not a simple R&R.

9-4201 SX no sprockets this would be for 2.0 SS
9-4201 SA just crankshaft sprocket this for 2.4

9-4202 SX balance shaft chain no sprockets

then choose a water pump, I used the AC Delco

I would changed the camshaft bolts.
Not the sprockets.
Just because I was there and had to remove the orig bolts to remove the sprockets to remove the chain
BUT, I have issues, and not changing the bolts would have bothered me.
I also am still using the orig solenoids.

I'll probably add a couple bolts to the order, I think they are only about $2.50 or so apiece. Just in case I pull them.

Camshaft bolts , you will need to pull them both to get the timing chain out and the new one in.
