And when you install the new metal one don't worry about the stupid little (I mean little) clip that goes on the bottom of the hinge pin.
The pin is installed from the top, it won't come out. Hint -> gravity.
This is from installing a metal handle myself.

I got a pair of them for $8, but they were the plastic ones.
I got the metal ones from these guys. They have a store a few miles from me so I just went and picked them up rather than doing ebay.

The metal door handles are a little more than the plastic ones, but not much. At the time I bought, the the best I could find was approx. $14 or $24 for both sides.

Do NOT buy the kit with the bracket. That’s doing it the hard way at greater expense. Just the handle that comes with new pin, pin retaining clip, and spring. You probably won’t need the spring.
