Hey folks,
The dealer took the car on Monday and dropped off a new CTS for a loaner(Like the HHR SS better than the caddy though)
They called and said they replaced the RR sensor this time, but wouldnt have time to properly road test it before Tuesday. They dropped it off Tuesday around 10 am with a $30 Citgo card for my troubles.I think that they seem heads up with the deal.I also bought a new 06 Impala ss from them, and have been great with that car also.
If your in Orange county NY,check out Fulton Chevy. They have been good with me so far.

Tire Pressure Monitor is OK

After reading several about TPM problems, when my TP warning light came on two weeks ago I took the car to the dealer to check it out. The tire was actually about 15 pounds low and they said it was a leak at the valve stem. Just this week the problem surfaced again and I took it to the dealer again. The TPM read 17 lbs and the dealer's gauge confirmed that number. It was indeed leaking, but very, very slowly...so much so that they had to purge the nitrogen (the dealer included nitrogen filled tires in a package I did not want, but it was already installed and I went ahead and took it.) from the tire and refilled it with air, and they found that the leak was caused by tire bead not seating properly against the rim.

Maybe this experience will help someone. On the other hand, it may have been a very rare occurrence.

Remember troops.......all 2008 vehicles sold in the U.S. now require these systems. It's really a good thing for most of the motoring public. We are an "enthusiast" type group, more aware of our vehicles needs than the average driver........these average drivers are the ones that really need the help from a system like this.

Don't forget.......take both fobs with ya.

It is obvious that the tire and wheel combination on the SS has a high occurrence of slow leak problems, and it is a good thing we have these monitors. Thought we had one fixed, but both my rears are still leaking, one at 1 psi/day, the other at 1/2 psi/day. Fronts are both fine. A real pain. Into the dealer for some cosmetic warranty stuff next week, and hopefully they can come up with a fix on the slow leakers.

Does this thread solve my problem?

I have a similar problem to what's described above.

The Driver Infomration Center on my SS displayed SVC TIRE MONITOR (seemilngy every time it rained, but that might be a coincidence). I took it in, and they couldn't isolate the problem, so they just replaced my sensor (Left Front). Unfortunately, that made the darn thing "go off" every time I start the car now.

At least I can reproduce it regularly now....

I actually work For Discount Tire Co. Now im pritty sure that the GM TPMS have an actual rubber valve stem as opposed to the aluminum kind that dodge uses. We recently had a recall on valve stems made in china so if possible give them a wiggle and look for possible cracks because when they replace the sensor they often leave the actual valve. If your comfortable taking it to a Discount Tire we can also reset and check your TPMS system better than the car dealer could. Just a little somethin to think about.

Question Having trouble with my Tire Pressure monitor sensors

I am having all kinds of problems with this reset. It picks up LF tire and give me a left front signal light and adjusting tire pressure gives me a 1 beep of the horn, then I go to the RF tire and gives me Right front signal light and adjusting tire pressure, but I don't get a beep adding or decreasing air pressure. the I get 2 beeps of the horn. And then I get Double lines for all tire pressure for -- LF , -- RF ,-- LR ,-- RR > This is the Kicker everything was working on all the tire sensors 34 LF , 34 RF , --LR , 34 RR but the , So I replaced LR and I got a reading 34 LR and it was working , then the RF went to 0 . So now I got this Problem. So I went through the Learning again and it will give me a left front signal light and adjusting tire pressure gives me a 1 beep of the horn, then I go to the RF tire and gives me Right front signal light and while adjusting tire I get no Beep from the horn. Then I get 2 beeps and --LF --RF --LR --RR . Then I disconected the battry for 5 minuites and then got --LF --RF --LR --RR . Please
Help Me !
