Who did you vote for? Did they vote to pass the LAW? Did you write a letter to your Congressman and Senator? Complain to the correct person, we got nothing to do with it!

While you are moaning about Mandated things, go for TC, airbags, airbag warning lights, safety labels on the visors, safety labels under the hood, vacuum routing diagrams under the hood, catalytic converters, freon warnings/formulations, tread wear indicators, crumple zones, collapsable steering columns, hydraulic brakes, stop lights, headlights, turn signals etc.

You may not be like the "soccer mom" next door who only knows where the key goes in her car, but there are a huge number of them. How many low tires, brake light out, no headlights (because they think DRLs are the same thing) do you see every day? I see at least 30 a day. Just the other day I mentioned to a co-worker that she had a flat tire, She said "yeah, I know I am going to get a new (used) one on payday, it will last another 5 days" It never crossed her mind that adding air might be an option.

OKAY, then what you could do is, rip out the BCM and the RCDLR and figure out how to hardwire all of their functions. In other words, since it is mandated by a Federal law, it can't be done easily or legally.
