Traction Control light
Traction Control light
First of all, thank you for the opportunity to post on here. I have some pretty thorough questions. First of all I have a traction control light, the ABS light, brake light and security lights emitting on the dash. The transmission bucks and eventually goes out and everything returns to normal. After sitting for a few hours the codes on the car disappears. Then the following day the codes reappear and the tachometer and fuel gauge goes dead. On a recent post on here someone suggested replacing the EBCM. I had my mechanic replace it and reprogram it for the car. Everything worked fine for a week and we are back to square one again.
Today I was informed that the car runs rich tripping the same codes and more. He said other modules are affected like ECM which in turn trip other modules. Any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated. The car has 186,000 miles on it and is well maintained.

What codes? You didn't mention any.
Because one person says one fix worked for their particular car should not mean you should start throwing parts at it. The particular member owns a HHR recycling yard so parts are free for him.
The symptoms you cite usually are due to a voltage problem. Like a bad battery or a loose/frayed wire. "Tripping" modfules does not mean anything.

You are back at square one, because your battery is weak with possibly a dead cell or two , anything below 12.3 bolts is a dead battery.
Also check the under hood fuse box , they tend to loosen up over time.
