Transmission won’t shift into 4th at all
The exhaust got so bad to the point it was coming straight out the manifold and within a couple days of this happening it would no longer shift into 4th. Had exhaust fixed within a week and it still won’t shift into 4th. Where should I start looking before I go doing a tranny swap

Get a code reader that can read transmission codes or go to a tranny shop that can read them.
I had a tranny problem on our Montana minivan that the shop read the code on, which indicated what the problem was. The tranny code did not set the MIL on the dash.
Usually not going into 4th (OD) is a protective measure programmed into the control system because it sees some other problem. Top gear puts the most stress on engine and trans parts due to the gear ratio.
