Went in for an oil change...came out with a list
My wife took in my 2009 2.2L HHR for an oil change and with their 27 point inspection they told her the following things needed attention. 74,000 miles
Transmission service $219.95+tax
Fuel induction service $174.50+tax
Needs tires $771.95+tax (knew I needed tires, but look at that price. lol)
Alignment $89.95+tax
Both front struts $499.10+tax
Is any of this a must, meaning right now, I don't even know what the transmission service or the fuel induction service are?
Struts, tires and alignment(because of new struts and tires) I know, I have rims and tires to go on.
Any input on the fuel and transmission services would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance, jimpennjr
P.S.- I did use the search feature, but it came back with 20 pages. I will continue to search as I await responses.

How many miles? I have a 09 and have had none of this done. However a Trans service is coming up next month. I have 70000 miles and live in fairly dusty conditions. Seems like they want to upsell but I dont know the car. Struts are a possibility but probally not really needed.
And an alignment really wouldn't be needed unless something is currently wrong or car is pulling. With new tires all you really need is a good balancing.

From what I know its difficult to do on these cars. Have to fill through the check plug underneath. So im just gunna give it to the dealer. As far as your fuel system it never hurts to do it but personally id wait till you get the 100,000 mile service and do it with the new spark plugs. Any issues with the car?

Sadly too many service writers see a lady at the counter and their heads have little dollar signs floating around them, its wrong and its dishonest.
With 74,000 miles on your HHR, you may and I emphasize "may" need the transmission serviced if you fall under the Severe Service category in the maintenance schedule on page 6-7 of your owners manual. If you do meet the Severe Service usage definition the transmission should have been serviced at 50,000 miles. If your owner's manual has gone missing, just click this link and then click your model year.

You can do the transmission service yourself, its a bit of a pain, but the info you need is in this thread.

As for the rest of their list, you know you need tires, and you know their price is absolutely silly, should you have an alignment, that would depend on your old tires and whether they are showing alignment related wear patterns. Would I have an alignment with new tires, yes, its cheap insurance towards getting the full life out of the new tires. Would I have the dealer do the work, nope, I'd find a good alignment shop.
The struts are getting tired at 74,000 miles, and you'd notice a difference if you replace them and the shocks, but if they aren't leaking and you're not bouncing off the road....they are optional. But if you ever do replace them, an alignment is mandatory, you can never put things back into exactly the same positions no matter how careful you are. And if you do the struts, the upper strut mounts should be changed at the same time, they wear out and eventually make noise.
See below.
TIme to find a new shop IMO.

Transmission service $219.95+tax - At 100K, maybe.
Fuel induction service $174.50+tax - RIP off
Needs tires $771.95+tax (knew I needed tires, but look at that price. lol) Wish mine had been that cheap....lol
Alignment $89.95+tax Is it pulling or bad tire wear?
Both front struts $499.10+tax Evidence of leaking or anything?
Is any of this a must, meaning right now, I don't even know what the transmission service or the fuel induction service are?
