All of these reference the same system of issues between the throttle, throttle actuator, control module and so forth. I think it is all the same problem.

What I do have now is another HHR of the same year and with the same engine. I am going to try to play some musical parts and see if I can move the trouble from one vehicle to the other.

I am starting today with the throttle valve/control. This 2135 code with the associated reduced engine power has been the primary frustration with this vehicle. It has over 106000 miles on it now and we have had no issues other than this. (I did a brake job on the front and replaced one warped rotor and machined the other one.)

I will report back if I find the problem (or if I don't)
Hi 63falcondriver,

I have been following your thread because my '08 silverado is doing the same thing, and it is worse than ever. This morning, it happened 3 times before I got about 100' out of the drive way. Did you ever find a cure? Did re-crimping the wires work?
P.S. Thanks for all the updates!

The p2135 is the ecm being confused. One thing is that it has to be flashed/learned again. The car/vehicle doesn't have a self learning ecm. It won't learn the new choices coming from the new parts. All the parts can't be aftermarket either, only brake pads, rotors, tires, wiper blades etc are acceptable. Any other part has to be oem and reprogrammed/flashed to learn the codes again. I have had about the issues with about every post in here. I've changed the temperature thermostat sensor, throttle positron sensor, gas peddle and etc..no solutions or tricks will fix it. It has a total of 8 programs that get affected by changing a part under the hood.

Part 2: Buy and replace the broken throttle position sensor from the dealership and do it yourself. Then take it in to be reflashed. It will cost $115 or so to do it. But better than having a mechanic do it and charge for the hours and parts all together. Keep the recipes!!!! They need them in order to reprogram the car.

I took the throttle body off and cleaned it inside and out. Then inspected each individual wire, including cleaning the ground. When doing this, I took each wire out from the terminal end, and gently pulled it. Then I checked the whole length of each wire for damage. I did not find anything wrong with it, so I put it all back together. I haven't got the warning in the last two weeks, so at least I located the problem area. I'm sure it will show up again, but at least it's a temporary fix. Here is a youtube video that helped me do this.

2011 HHR P2135 today

Hummm. Today in Tennessee we hit a low of 4 degrees when my 2011 HHR 2.2 went into limp mode P2135 dash indicates Reduced Engine power. Im thinking the extreem Cold has shrunk a harness or wire.. Placed in Garage for an hour and it runs like a champ. Wierd my scan tool read the code at first but after letting it set in guarge it would not read. Additional information Thursday last week I went out to start the car and the battery was totaly dead. I replaced the battery last night and less than 10 hours later P2135??

843de posted a pic of the innards of the throttle control recently. I am guessing that stuff that involves step motors and nylon gears can freeze up and cause that kind of problem.
