My shifter is broken. Trying to get a hold of a leather or another time. Can't just go down to the local auto store because it seems that it has to be a special type of shifter (non screw on)

Are you asking about a new shifter or just a new "knob"? More vehicle info would also be useful when you post on here.
There are many replacement knobs available online.Check out the vendors list.I've seen some there. Local wrecking yard another choice. Dealer,another choice.

 

knob would be nice but if I have to replace it all due to not finding a knob (bc it's not a screw on ) then coolies.

I know dealer, ebay, and junkyard. But i was hoping certain experienced HHR peeps would possibly point me to the cheapest or best way.
