Where is the High Pressure AC Switch located on the 2006 HHR 2.2L
Problems/Service/RepairsIf you have a problem with your HHR, want a tip on repairing or performing a particular service to you HHR here is the place to post!
Thanks for the pic. Quick question though >> It is a little hard to decipher from the pic ... Are you sure this is the high-pressure switch? I believe the low-pressure switch plugs right into the compressor.
Hmm. Not sure. I haven't worked on automotive AC's professionally in many years. But. That switch is in the AC line block. Not in the actual compressor.
Old school training says by default, the line that goes to the condenser is the high side.
Since the switch pictured, and the line it's attached to go to the condenser (which is the high side ), I would assume it's a high pressure switch.
I just haven't scoped out all the components on my AC system since it's been trouble free since new.
Fwiw. Sorry that picture is hard to decipher. It wasn't originally taken to show the AC switch. It's an old pic from a SS Tmap discussion. Just used it in this thread because it showed the AC pressure switch.
I am very grateful for the pic and info. I think you are correct about it being on the high side line. The way the AC is laid out is a little different looking than some of the generic diagrams I have seen.
This is the part recommended at AutoZone for the 2006 HHR 2.2L for anyone else who may need this info. Santech A/C Switch MT1247 - Read Reviews on Santech #MT1247
