Recently just replaced the shocks and the brake pads on the rear and it still does it. Any ideas what else could cause it?
Hi Karlo,

At least you don't have a whining noise come from the back seat.

Well if it makes the noise while jacking the vehicle up could it be noisey rear springs? Have someone rock the car side to side while you lye under and trace it. Works well. And best of luck.

Nah, I don't have that problem any more; both my sons are fully grown (one is 28 and the other is 26). Anyway, speaking of sons my oldest, Karl Jr., helped me change the brake shoes and the shocks and when I went to take the passenger-side wheel off I found that he had put way too much torque (close to 200) on the lug nuts, I could barely get the things off, had to shoot them with WD40. In fact, I am going to have to replace some of the nuts and maybe a couple of the bolts. Makes me wonder if he warped something. At least the driver side one was OK since I put it on myself. I am going to remember this next time he asks me to help him work on his Ram 2500.

No, he put 165 to 185 torque the passenger side rear lug nuts on the HHR and I am right now pissed at him so I am not going to help him work on that truck like he asked to later this week.
