Unhappy Whining sound from drivetrain

Sounds like a bearing problem.but doesn't pass the bearing test. When I'm at 40 mph it'l whine. It'l get a little louder when I'm at 60-70.regardless if in neutral or not, turns don't change pitch. Jacked both front Tires up,both are worn.did 9&3 and 12&6 tests,no scraping sound at the HUB,tire doesn't spin freely. No play at ball joints, tie rods. Brakes look fine,Boots look fine, but when you move the tires back and forth you hear a clicking sound at the differential where the spindle meets. on both drivers and passengers side. Is there a bearing at the differential? What kind of a repair job does this sound like ? Is there a better repair book than Haynes ? perhaps online that will save me some money? I would like to do this myself, though I have a friend who is mechanically inclined to help.DON'T HAVE THE BUCKS TO TAKE IT TO THE SHOP

Stating the year, engine, transmission and mileage would be helpful.

End play tolerance of the hubs is .015, not much. The wiggle test is for really gone hubs.

I can't help; I don't know what "same issue" means.

You would be better of starting a new thread stating your exact problem.
