windows down but not up

09 HHR 89k. passenger and rear windows will go down with their individual switches but not up. They work normally from the drivers control. Any suggestions about where to start?

Did you check out the fuses regarding the windows in your fuse box?

You can find that information in the Online Owners manual. CLICK HERE AND CLICK YOUR YEAR

Most likely master switch from the pre 2009 schematic that is available. Would like to find a later schematic as all 3 remote switches "failed" simultaneously.

Geez lawdog, if the windows are working in one direction, I would think he has electrical power to the switch....thus the fuse would not present the problem. Maybe I'm missing something here and wrong....somebody say so.

Come on Snoopy, maybe the fuse was only blown on 1 side.

I must have blown a fuse when I suggested that. Sorry guys.. I've been on 7 day work weeks for almost 3 weeks now.. Little ragged.

I agree that the master switch is more that likely not supplying the ground to the rear window motor in the neutral position like it should.

Some people have had good luck taking the switch apart and cleaning the contacts.

Here is a thread that will show the inner workings of the switch and it also has a wiring diagram for a 2010. https://www.chevyhhr.net/forums/prob...-switch-46384/
