Cool Won't accelerate

Hi, I own a 2006 hhr lt. This morning I tried starting the engine with my remote. It did not start, it only made the starting noise but did not start. I tried to start it by hand and the engine started making a strange noise and it will not accelerate. I drive it but there is no power. The engine light is on and something strange it is giving a message "power steering". Please if anybody has any feedback I would really appreciate it, since I do not want to take it to the dealership and have them rob me blind. Please help!!

First question.....

Do you still have power steering....which if you didn't know, has an electric motor boost, in place of the steering fluid pump?

A fault in the electric steering and the lose of power are connected to a computer program as a safety factor, I believe.

It could be many different things. Get it to a shop or dealer and let them read the code.

Could be a sensor, body control module, connector or several other things. The code will locate it fairly easy.

Took it to autozone and they couldn't get a reading. Had to take it to the dealership and they found code P0300. Checked misfire data and found misfires on cylinders 2 and 3. Checked for spark on 2 and 3, no spark. Coil and module were internally open. Replaced ignition coil assy and ignition module, replaced all 4 spark plugs....after all this paid 342.00 for parts and 212 for labor... geeezz
