where?

Fuse #10 & #8 on the BCM is for the Theft Deterrent Module.

need to check the start relay for signal and power. Should be able to force the starter by jumping pins 30 & 87 on the fuse box, 1 of them should be hot if the fuse is good. The control is on either 85 or 86. Anyway, 2 pins should be hot and one NC one ground; the NC will be the signal (ground). You need to find out if the signal or the power is being inhibited.

30 & 87 where??? Crammed myself into pass floor. Pulled, cleaned and replaced everytning. Now I don't know where these pins are to cross.

2 hot. No signal on other 2 when key in start. Nothing by crossing 30&87. Relay in so it's read from front of vehicle. Tried rotating too.

So no signal getting to crank relay.

Relay #51 is for the run/crank/park neutral switch. Not the same as crank relay #34.

Oddly enough, the back up lights are involved. So check if the back up lights work.

Check relay #26 under hood.

The relay pin numbers are printed on the relay and the fuse box, match them up.

There is a chance that the ign switch got dislodged. There is only 1 wire for run/crank. There have been lots of reports of sloppy recall work.

These numbers are just examples not actual:
Turn the key to RUN 5V signal to BCM, BCM activates run relay.
Turn the key to START 12V signal To BCM, BCM activates run relay and crank relay.
The crank relay is powered by the run relay.

Check the recall status for yourself here https://www.chevyhhr.net/forums/gm-r...-status-50716/

Tilt

Downloaded all schematics. Backup lights working.

Sunday I can get back to it. Bought some 2.75 reader glasses...

Thanks for your help.

Oh...my friends 08..he changed engine(rod) and won't start. Live data shows 90 rpm at crank but says CPS needs relearned...

These HHR'S sure are complicated.

Crankshaft position sensors always need relearn. Not all that complicated if you get over fear of computers, they are not magic and rarely "break".
