Won't start with remote!

This morning I went out and LilDee wasn't running. Tried again to start with remote and all it made was a wirring noise. Got into the car and it started up except now it has a check engine light on! Has anyone else had this happen and if so how do I fix?

Thanks ,Don.

Just guessing, but it would sound like there is some sort of mechanical problem with the car... (Yes, call me Einstein!)

I know I read in the manual that if it detects a problem, it wont start with the remote to prevent damage. I'd take it into the dealer soon, or at least take it to an auto parts store and have them read the code that's setting off the MIL light.

You are correct. If engine light is on that is your culprit to why it's not starting. if in warranty take to dealer. f not, go to like an Advanced Auto Parts or Autozone, and they can lend you a OBDII Scanner. Plug it in and read the code. You may be able to fix it cheaper than the dealer. Just my two cents.

Good luck, an post what you find.

Gas cap must have been loose. We checked and found an emissions code. Tightened the gas cap no problems now.

Nice, Glad it worked out for you. Those gas caps must be tight, It sucks that they throw a code though.
