Yes, another question on the "Rattle"

I purchased new strut bars for my 07, and when I started to put them on, noticed that the old ones did not appear to be worn. I checked the internet for more info on symptons of worn struts, and concluded mine are OK - especially when I reallized what a pain they would be to change.

I did notice however that the sway bar certainly appeared to be touching the top of the A-arm, where the two cross each other. And I noticed that the both rubber parts of the sway bar end link was indeed dry and worn. My guess is that replacing the end links would lift the sway bar away from the A-arm and perhaps, maybe, possibly, it just might end the rattle. I tried to look at the bushings for the sway bar, and really could not decide anythng about them by looking at them, except they too appear to be a real pain to change out. Any thoughts concerning the end links???? Thanks much - kip

I checked further on this site, and found the info on the Moog end links, went to their site, and ordered one pair. Will let you know about the rattle when they arrive and are on the car... this is indeed a great site for getting help... thanks - kip

The end links are a big source of noise and consternation, I'm betting that once you get the Moogs in, you'll be cruising rattle free.

Yeah the sway bar bushings cant be inspected unless you remove them, they dont usually cause a rattling noise, more of a squeak.
The rattling is most likely the endlinks as you have found. If that doesnt fix it, other possibilities are control arm bushings or steering column.

our front end rattle was caused by worn sway bar bushings. haldimand motors replaced the steering shaft in the first round but that didn't fix it. second time around they did the sway bushings. no more rattle. the id of the bushings were badly worn.

Wow, they must have been really worn to make metal to metal contact. If I ever have to replace them out of warranty, Im looking for poly ones, the rubber GM ones must be soft.
