co worker wants to race? fusion 3.5l awd
So my co-worker bought this new to him 2011 ford fusion awd 3.5l sport...He has been talking about it a lot and keeps insisting that he has the fastest car in the parking lot. I told him I'll see him at test and tune in april...Now I am a pretty humble person, But I know that behind the owners BMW SUV, there isnt much potential (beside my ss) anyhow...
SO I guess I am asking if anyone owns one of these and what they think...I actually googled this car and found out a few things, with that V6 they have comparable power to a stock LNF 263 hp/249 tq. The issue that I have is that these fusions weigh 3800+ pounds. where the SS rolls in at 3280 I think? I am pretty confident that I would win untuned, but tuned, I know my car is a monster. I understand that he may come off the line hot, but after that I am not worried
Tuned our LNFs are 300 hp/ 320 tq if not higher...I just want to shut this guy up....He has been bashing the SS (in a friendly way) for a bit to others so I am looking forward to test and tune/cruise night
Oh and he dropped a little joke that 4 cylinder turbos are "pointless"

Is his turbo? If so, might be a good race off the line. If not, your turbo, putting torque across the curve has him by about a car or two.....IMO.
I haven't looked at the specs on his car, but if he has a 6 speed he'll probably have a little jump on you. In my experience, the 6 speeds over a 4 speed have about .25-.50 second benefit.

The AWD might let him get you off the line, but I'd say by the 60 foot mark, you'll go sailing by.
Now if it was a new Taurus SHO with the 3.5L twin turbo Ecoboost engine, then you'd be hard pressed to eek out a win, drove a police package Taurus with that engine and they plain haul tail.

I agree 843de although for those big numbers the sho has, its definitley a pig...and listed 14.0 1/4 mile by car and driver

Also the SHO was brought up...stock against stock from a roll might be a close race?
