Coming home from work 5-10-12 I was coming down Hwy 35 here in southern Ohio, and came up next to this black Ford Fusion. Looked to be de-badged so I couldn't tell what model it was. Come up to Abbey Ave. on the west side of Dayton on 35 and get caught by a stop light. I had been kind of speeding up and slowing down a little bit. Was trying to see if I could hear something under the hood.. Nothing, but he thought I was messing with him. I had my windows rolled down, and I looked over. He gave me the nod, and when the light dropped Green, we both went for it. Sounded to me like he gave it about 3/4 power, but his loss, literally. I took him with about a length and 1/4 by the mile after which we had to shut down due to construction coming up.. Kind of impressed not going to lie. Whether he dogged it or not, I felt like it was legit.

I dunno. The weight and hp for the base Fusion seem similar to my old 2LT, but the Internet is giving me faster 0-60 times for the Fusion than I could have done with the 2.4L LT.

If it had the 23EW Duratec engine, he was packing 160-175 hp depending on the model year, so yeah it was a fair match-up.

Now if it had the 30EW Duratec, he was packing 221hp...and the 35EW packs 260hp, so you would have had your hat handed to you unless he soft pedaled it.

Either way, rack it up as a "win" over a Ford, and that's a good thing.
