The hunt for 12's is on!
Hey ATL, I thought we already had forged crank, and rods. You may not have to do anything to the bottom end except a turn and balance
Pistons are a weak point. If i do those may as well do rods snd whatnot. Its a snowball effect lol. I would love to be able to turn the boost up and go all out on occasion:)
im not too worried about axles. they seem to hold up to 500-600hp and if they break they're like a hundred bucks a piece at the local auto parts store.
3rd gear has always been the weak link with the cobalts. now here's the thing.....cobalts run a 3.82 while we are a 4.05....this gives less stress on the gears. this is the main difference with the zzp stg2 trans, being a 4.45, again less stress on the gears. so right off the bat in theory the hhr trans is a bit stronger than the cobalt trans. is it enough, i don't know. ccss3 is using a 4.05 lsj trans right now which has far outlasted any of his (7) previous 3.82 transmissions ever did.
