I just ran door to door with a 2door hptuned cobalt from a 30roll.
I'm sure I make the same power as my old cobalt, just have to get it to the ground.

I literally just now put on some 245.mickys and going back to track this Sunday.

All that is done is a mild tune by myself using HPT, and a set of Hoosier QTP slicks.

Best run ended up being a 14.02 @ 101.2, could only muster a 2.0 60' even with the slicks.

I am having a heck of a time getting these slicks to grip, spinning them in 1st gear just isn't enough speed to properly warm them up. But using 2nd gear either just slips the clutch to death, or just bogs and almost stalls. Doesn't have enough power to break them loose in 2nd even in the water box. I am getting a wot box today from a friends car, so I am hoping that will help spool the turbo and I can do a proper burnout/warmup with the slicks.

It's very frustrating that these HHR's run so much slower, ET and trap, compared to their sister Cobalts that make the same power.

If any of your buddies went, check your 60' times with them. I mean if the track prep is bad, nobody will have traction.

If I go on cruise night by me, I get 2.4's for 60' times...test n tune night is different, I got a 2.16 60' time on street tires with 18 psi in them...good for a 9.06 @ 78.9 MPH on an 1/8th with an auto tuned with trifecta...some guys are in the 8's on street tires with the same combo as me....Track prep can be terrible sometimes...

and on the HHR vs Cobalt thing, the cobalt is more aerodynamic, and weighs in at like 2900lbs, compared to our 3300ish. Also the final drive ratio is different in the two cars(5spd)...

EDIT: Did you use "Launch Control"?

I don't use tc.
Instant grip means bog like a brick wall.

No, did not use launch or traction control, prefer to just use my feet for that :)

I used these same tires on my old cobalt, car ran mid 12s cutting 1.8 60s pretty easy, even with an open diff. Was hoping to do better now that the HHR has an LSD.

When I go back with new clutch and wot box, I will be more aggressive. The cars built in NLS and Launch control system is garbage.

Went to Mid-America motorplex in Glenwood, IA last night for some 1/8 mile drag racing. Cannot get good 1-2 shifts. Bogs down everytime and clutch slips like crazy in 2nd but here is my best run of the night. Crunch the numbers on this big jack.

That 1/8 th mile would pit you around a
14.41@104
But I am guessing et would be better
Since that's a ton of mph for the et.

Et has lots of room but he will lose trap with a better launch.

I dropped 3mph and traded it for.3et with change from stock tires to Mickey's.

I'd course weather was different but you don't usually improve one and keep the other the same with no mods

Visited Cecil County Dragway just outside of North East, MD yesterday. Best pass I could put down was a 14.67 @ 89.91 mph, despite throwing an overboost code and not having boost the last 1/8 mile. I made a few more passes but could not get below a 14.6. Disappointed. Was expecting 14.3-14.4's with the MPH I was getting (upper 93's).

Wasn't reaching full boost in 3rd gear - only touching 7-8 psi. Suspect the wiring for the GMTU near the compressor. Going to check it this week. If that checks out ok, going to order a downpipe and get it retuned by HPTuners.
