OK so Mike just posted a pic showing 22?.

I will say though, I don't have any performance mods except the IMCO, had a couple of F-A-T people, 2 kids and a full cargo area.

I just love this economy car. When I hit 119, it would have gone faster but with the precious cargo I had on board, that was fast enough for me!

The 78 I got up to on the track at Bristol felt a lot faster than the 119 on the hwy. Those banks are a b!tch!! I'd punch it coming out of the turn to get some more speed on the straight and it seemed like just one second later another big a$$ bank was flying at me.......braking time!

Can't wait to try it again though....the track, I think for now 119 is fast enough for me.

Did you happen to check out the mpg you were getting while doing 119?
When I checked mine at 118, it was reading only 14 mpg.

I don't think I'm going to try again anytime soon either, going to keep it to under 100, just not worth the risk/lousy mpg.

At that speed, I wonder how far the HHR can coast.

I hit 105 mph on my trip to Eastern Oregon. Before I put my intake on. Can't wait to see what it's going to do when I got out next month. The car stayed steady at high speeds. I was really surprised my wife wanted to feel what the car felt like at high speed. She didn't like the car at first but it's growing on her.

Honestly, as soon as I got the pic, we did coast for a looong time before we got back down to 85, which is what we were doing to make good time. I didn't even think to look at the mpg. I do know that when we did fill up we had gotten over 25 mpg overall. This was driving 80-85 mostly through very hilly conditions carrying a lot of weight.

And no I won't be trying this again anytime soon. If I do it'll be after my cars out of warranty and I start doing some real performance mods; cat back, supercharger, etc....hey a guy can dream can't he!

It was a real rush though.

I could just add a few SoCal HHR decals, thats always good for another 15-25 hp.

I know what you mean about the ride.

There was no floating feeling or unsteadiness of any kind.

My wife had no idea that we were going that fast until I told her to get the camera ready.

And my wife's a new convert too. As soon as she was done with her turn doing laps at Bristol she said she had to have one too. She already has picked out her color!

I'm sure the mpg wasn't that bad. After 9 dyno runs at wide open throttle from 30-110mph here's what we ended up with:

Try that in your V8 car!
