We got lucky and were between two super cells here in the Charlotte area, some tornado damage north and south but thankfully no casualties. Not many reports on damage in eastern Carolina, lots of damage in western and central Virginia sadly. If its another 50 years before something like this storm season comes around again, that'll still be too soon. They said today that the April 14-16 storm and this last storm have sadly combined to take nearly 500 lives, unbelievable.

 

Good you got lucky, I feel very fortunate also.

Some places are bad as an "inland Katrina".

I saw that 3 touched down along 411 and one very close to Greenback.
Glad I waited to move because I've been looking in the Greenback/Vonore/Maryville area.

 

OK here.I'm in southern Alabama and the major damage occured in the upper half of the state. My fire department has a crew deployed to the area and the guys called in a few times yesterday.Unofficially, some of the veterans stated they could not believe the total destruction of so many areas. This is the same crew that responded during Hurricane Katrina,so they have seen the worst.
My daughter lives 20 miles east of Birmingham and luckily her and the boyfriend are OK. I called to warn her when the Weather Channel was showing the Birmingham tornado "live". She didn't know anything was going on.(watching a movie with the boyfriend)
The road to recovery is going to be long.My thoughts and prayers to all that are affected by this.

firemangeorge- I agree, road to recovery will be a long one for many areas.

I tuned & sharpened up my Chainsaw & heading over to some very good friends place in nearby Apison.. They have a big tree on the house..

But they are OK, & that's the main thing..

Edit: And My thoughts and prayers to all that are affected by this also..

 

I know you know what you're doing sleeper, but watch yourself around that partly fallen tree, they are called "widow makers" for a reason.
