Hey Karl

I would like to attend this event. Could you recommend any hotels in area. I would drive up Friday night from SoCal

Thanks, John

Chowchilla Holiday Inn Express starts at $108, the one in Madera is about 10 bucks more, advanced purchase rates. These are well-reviewed. The Chowchilla one is brand new, opens May 20th, so it should be very clean.

Look at the Holiday Inn express website.

Hotels seem rare the closer you get to Castle AFB, because it's pretty remote? Some of them look pretty iffy, like Merced area. But you can get down to $60/night if you look.

Maybe others could help better than I? I think we'll go for that new one. Watch out though, as that one wants money up front for the $108 rate and no money refunded for cancellations..

I sent you a PM last night re: hotels.

Ones anyone can try are:

Holiday Inn Express Merced (Days Inn)
Applegate Inn Motel in Atwater
Comfort Inn Merced.

Also if you have AAA, they can help as well.
