Another Class Act SoCal g2g
Bonnie and I just returned home from the Solvang g2g
! Although often repeated let me just say the SoCal Group could do clinics on how g2g's can be succesfully organized
! We traveled 700 miles round trip for an afternoon of Great People ("EVERYONE in ATTENDANCE"), Great Cruzin and Great Pizza and "Beer"
! I'm not going to mention anyone by name for fear of leaving someone out but everyone made this an incredible day and we can't wait to "Do It Again"
!
DLVRNIT and TEB-HHR wait for there owners to return

UMA and lyntmr61 also wait patiently for there owners

lyntmr and c2vette just Chillin as Sig gets the scoop on the days activities that he'll be unable to partake in do to prior commitments

But I think there is a tentative for the 23rd to Irwindale in the works as well.
Almost like last year we are so busy again!
GREAT pix, Kevin! Glad to see you and Bonnie again and glad you made it home with no tickets this time!
Although I thought I was getting pulled over in Santa Barbara, but ends up the CHP just wanted me to move (i guess I was going too slow at 80).
Hope you're doing better, Charles (you mentioned eye surgery).

Wow, what a blast! This was the first run I made with members from this forum, and I had a ball! Met some great folks, and hopefully, made a couple of new friends. Here some of my observations about the G2G:
1. SoCal owners with dark paint appear to spend a fanatical amount of time polishing and cleaning off bugs. I love my white car more now.
2. SoCal owners appear to be a narcissist group. Every time we stopped, everyone would bail out of their cars, cameras snapping pictures. First their car, then others.
3. SoCal owners sure are a friendly lot. Everyone introduced themselves to me, and not one of them asked me to pick up the tab for lunch.
Kudos to Chris and Christin for putting on this G2G, it was really well thought out and enjoyed by all. Looking forward to the next one. I took a couple of photos during the trip, you can see them at my Flickr site flickr.com/photos/96553078@N00/sets/7215761784458

Uncle Dannie, a narcissist would take pix of themselves before their cars!
And thanks for the compliment!
The little extra effort wiping things down to save a paint job or grill is worth it when you are (one of) the best looking cars in the lot.

My baby, bugs and all.

Off to get the bucket.

okay, i can FINALLY get in here, now that we've accrued 2 more pages of posts since the events haha. well, i got about 4 hours sleep before work, got home about an hour ago, and am still awake! go me!
on to business, i want to thank everyone that made it, coming from near or far! Kristin and I could jump in the car and drive all day long, and it wouldn't be nearly anything without the rest of you joining us! (well, except some good quality time spent between us lol). i gotta say, though, as much planning as you all THINK went in to this, i literally came up with the new route on the spot...and modified it a touch at the Vista Point stop (overlooking the ocean) lol, so there was zero advanced planning for the events that actually took place lol. the important thing is, all the hard work is done for the next one, we have a great route all ready to go!
i am going to be working on pictures today, and so i don't have to sit here and upload tons of pics into my HHR Gallery on here, i will make a dedicated album on photobucket, and link it here, with some of the important pics in my gallery here as well, and those will be actually in this thread. the photobucket album will have ALL the pictures taken from both my camera (which i strangely never used myself lol) and Kristin's parent's camera.
all in all, it was a FANTASTIC day! gorgeous scenery, a variety of landscapes, cities, and many stares from passing cars hahaha. we even had a tag along for a bit there, apparently they were in a hurry to get somewhere though lol. (for those who missed it, on the 101S between Orcutt and the 154 a white HHR joined along, then ended up moving out and slowly passing us all, continuing on their merry way). i will also be taking a screen shot on my lap top of the map of our route, we had my laptop tracking us and drawing our trail as we went. my final odometer reading was in the area of about 100 miles, i forgot to start it on time, and forgot to check it until i got home, so the drive home was in there, so guess-timating what i fudged in there, probably right close to 100. oh, and you all got to see where i work! haha
okay, i think i'm done rambling now lol.
