Meguiars Detailing 101 Class August 9th 2008
I was so inspired when I got home (well, shamed is more like it!), I let Blackie cool down, washed him *and* used my Maguiars wax and polished him up
THEN, felt bad for my S10, Indy and gave him a rub down with some Quik Detailer. Forgot how pretty the Indigo Blue color was...
So I got a great workout, and my truck and and little truck are all sparkly and pretty!

Thank you Matt for coming! I have never been so happy to see anyone before, since I had been picked as the car in the worst shape prior to your arrival.
Its a lot easier to learn how to use a DA on someone else's car! I feel confident that I can fix my swirls now.
It was a great learning experience for me and I think we all learned a lot.
It was great to see everyone that could make it and we missed those of you who couldn't.

Tim, you are so diplomatic! It was a great learning experience..that is true. Hey..the Pizza was great! We had a great time. I was glad to see that even rookies would not screw up the paint with a DA. That is what I have been afraid of with the machining aspect. I am confident that I can do that now. I have alot more to say, but I think that I shouldn't, but you know I will , LOL. Todd (Uma)
Just got home after checking on my father. Enjoyed the class, got to see that most of what I've been doing has been right and picked up the tips on how to do the rest correctly. I got home to a big box of stuff from ADS that came Friday after we left. Now I have a fresh gallon of APC so I can clean all the fingerprints and stuff I've put inside the car redoing the interior..
Great pics Ang! I had a good time today. Just a little problem with the way that things were said..maybe just a little too bluntly. Mike is the man! no doubt. He is the best in the business, we are not, we try our best and do not need to be insulted. This is just me talking and in general not an opinion shared by SocalHHR's. Disclaimer said. You know that I could not leave it alone! I tried, I really did, but got to rant. If you teach a class like this, you need to know your students. You need to talk down to them, maybe not make them feel so inferior. Afterall, we are not rolling around in show cars. I personally did not want to ask any questions because I do not have 8 hours a day to dedicate to keeping up with the Meguiars forum and constantly being reminded that all our questions could be found by doing so! If I wanted to take an on-line class then I would not have spent my saturday being reminded that I could do it all on-line. I love the product, will continue to use it. But will not spend another saturday having my friend's cars ridaculed when they try so hard to keep them up. Sorry about the rant, just some of the comments rubbed me the wrong way. Glad that everyone had a great time. todd (Uma)
Man...those are two very cool guys using the DA in those pictures.
I wonder who they are..........LOL
Seriously....LOTS of great info and the hands-on demos were great.
Now I know what I am supposed to be doing to my paint.
Josh, Jeremy and I also thought that at times, Mike was a bit abrupt.
BUT....he does spend most days dealing with the dummies of the auto detailing
world.....and he sure knows his stuff.

I agree Todd, he was a bit patronizing at times and has probably been teaching the class too long. He pushed the forum alot-perhaps they *should* just do something on line if all the answers are there!
We may not drive Corvettes but we still love our cars and want them to look nice.
I did learn some things and it seems he passionate about his work-but overall, it was the company I went for

I think what Mike was doing stressing the on-line section was so we could refresh our memory on things he covered if we forget, plus to show that when we come up to a unique problem (to us) to show that there is probably already an answer to it because someone has also had that problem. When I got my G110, there were no instructions with it, but the info I found on the Meguiar's forum showed me the proper speeds and techniques so I could get positive results without messing things up. I'm sure he was just wanting to make sure we continued to use that resource in the future for our benefit.
Al, there is no doubt that Mike is the detail God. He is great, I learned so much, I cannot even begin to tell you...And I thought I was good before. I have trained people at my work, and I do not tell them that that their pride and joy is horrendous..or a joke! He actually paid me a complaint by saying that my car was," not that bad at all". Coming from a pro, I'll take it. I do not express the opinions of SocalHHR's, just the guy that doesn't care about PR LOL. Todd(Uma)
