So Cal gets Kicked out of Sonic!
From wikipedia.com...Hooliganism refers to unruly and destructive behaviour. Such behaviour is commonly associated with sports fans, particularly supporters of professional football and university sports. In some countries, the hooligan elements of a group of supporters are known as Category C. The term can also apply to general rowdy behaviour and vandalism, often under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
and this definitely does not apply to any of the HHR owners I know. It's one thing to talk the talk...which was all do sometimes...we're gonna kick some butt or whatever...but putting it into action...NOT. We're just a bunch a nice folks who love our HHR's.
And the person didn't actually call you that either...but it was rude none the same.

I'm sorry I missed this one!
Seems they exercised their right to refuse service.
How many cars of the same are considered a club? I am in a car club, if I go solo will I be refused?
We are few, we are proud, we are SoCalHHRooligans!

You've got to be kidding?
What reason did they give you?
They should have at least offered to work out a way to let your club group park at their establishment and dine.
I do have to admit, we've done a few Sonic Cruise Nights with other car clubs in the St. Louis area, and we have always taken into consideration parking availability of the establishment. I wonder if THAT was their concern?
Some of the local St. Louis Sonic locations do not have much parking space. Only 10 - 15 drive-in bays. For those that do not have much parking, we tend to call in advance to let them know we plan to stop by.
Just think, if your business relies on carhop service and a huge car club (even the non-hooligan clubs) were to show up and decide to park in all the carhop bays and hang out for a couple hours, where would all the regular customers go?
Luckily, calling ahead has ALWAYS been a big plus for resturant / car club relations in our case.
For example: the smaller Sonic location in the local Gravois Bluffs area is adjacent to a strip mall. Their management offered that if we parked our large car club in the adjacent strip mall parking lot next to Sonic and called in our order from our cell phones, they would take our orders by phone and send their car hops over to deliver.
Not only did they get all our business but a lot more business from those who saw us and pulled in to Sonic to eat.

I banned Sonic just over a year ago from our take out menu. Every Sonic I have EVER been to in my area has given me horrible customer service and ALWAYS gets my order wrong. Writing letters to them does nothing but get you a free drink or a $2.00 off coupon. Word of mouth will hit them where it hurts. I make sure I tell everyone I know about the terrible customer service at Sonic. Now I have even more Ammo.
We were being considerate of others we were parked in an adjacent parking lot.
I've never been to Sonic before. But looking at the the way Sonic is layed out they are are not capable of the same type of fast turnaround of orders that a newer generation fast food franchise like for example an In and out can do. It doesn't even look they can accept "takeaway" order. For that reason I think the shift supervisor got into a panic mode and felt they couldn't handle that kind of a dinner rush.
At least in So Cal that kind of layout doesn't seem to be as competitive as other Burger joints. Maybe that's why there's only 3 of these places in all of our corner of the California.
They're in a niche market, unfortunately this particular store can't even do that competently
Make it a campaign. I think we can give this local store on google or yahoo - a bad review .

"hooligan"

Parking wasn't the problem--it is a huge lot with a lot of vacant stores. It is a small Sonic from what it sounds like--just some bays and a few tables outside for sitting at--nothing inside. I think it scared them when it was inadvertently stated we were a "club" and there were about 30 of us. The service looked bad, but you know, these are probably high school kids who probably didn't want to be working on a hot Saturday evening (but I give them props for being there!).
Manager had to do what she felt was right--perhaps in the past there were issues and I can understand the hesitation. There is not a lot around the area for people to hang out at and it is kind of in a challenging neighborhood.
It was an impromptu thing, and in the end, it all worked out! Met some great new folks, had a yummy burger, and got to hang with the usual crew who I like to call my friends!

I wish I could be part of it all
