Thanks for thinking of me, Kim
I have to work Saturday morning with said new students. They live in the res halls for 5 weeks and I work with them, teach a class on top of working my regular job and going to grad school full time.

Not making excuses--although I sound like such a *whiner*

But I have July 19th off!

As Don posted, please let us know the results of what the group decides!

@...(a very tired) whiner

Well, I guess I can agree with Tim on G2G dates. There are so many good ideas, we don't know what to do with ourselves.

So maybe, just because a couple of people can't make a date, we should just go with it anyway, with no offense, of course?

But even if we say SURE for a certain date, obstacles can arise.

And, for people coming from further away, or who are really busy, should we make a point to cater to their possible dates?

Yeah, I do think we should begin to discuss it. We are trying to be creative and have some new experiences while getting together with our cars. That's a lot harder than "Meet-ups at Joe's bar and grill every 2nd Thursday". Hmmm, maybe a regular meetup every month at the same location would be a good place to hash things out?

I'm beginning to see why larger car clubs get more "organized" - they have to!

It is the next indicated step. I think all points need to be discussed. I for one, want to not do as many large car shows and I am definitely interested in a regular burger/? run.

Speaking for me, I knew I was making BIG sacrifices going to school again--the biggest has been not seeing my family much. (My sister and I communicate by texts-and she lives next door!)

I knew I couldn't make every event we plan and have always stated that I feel majority rules for dates/events. I don't like missing things, but know others come up that I can make.

Like Don, I think car shows are great and like going, but not all the time. A monthly burger-run-g2g-meet up I can do as most are in the evening and on weekends.

Maybe putting up an event on here, doing a poll, voting for the best date and majority rules.

So let's put this to a vote!

well, my vote goes to the drive-in on the 19th as i finally got approved for the days off!! i will be driving down to my cousins in Pomona (hopefully, should get final word from him if i can stay there soon) saturday morning, and am off saturday night and sunday night. i haven't decided just when i will be heading home, thinking possibly very late sunday night (i like clear roads, hate LA traffic, and do well at night), because if i do, my fiancee will be able to come with me. she has school on monday at like 10ish.

but regardless, i'm free and clear for the trip down! i think whoever is in charge of the SoCal HHR decals should have one ready for me lol. are they available in silver like the chevyhhr.net one in my back window? oh, and we may have to neuter my SS at some point that weekend lol.

COME ON PEOPLE!!! YoChris went through a lot of hoops to do this and hopefully SoCal HHR's can come through for him and his fiance (and your cousin too!).

Tim is the keeper of the stickers and I'm sure he can come up with something for you.

And a "neutering" is encouraged (but not a requirement) to hang with the SoCal HHR group-but it seems we can not, not meet and not do a mod!

Well people??

You should "cater " to the majority. Unfortunately I have a schedule that requires me to be flexible which requires me to work most saturdays - mostly without much advanced notice. Plus this month there are family obligations to meet. I would be bummed but not offended if I were unable to attend some events..but alas that is life. Just take pics so I can see what I missed.

Do a drive in meet on the 19th and then again next month.

I won't be able to make the one in july as I will be in Havasu for a Bachelor Party.
