2.0L Issues speak up
In 43 years of driving Chevrolets, just had about 3 minor problems (u-joint, bad solder on windshield wiper controller, and alternator) and 2 major (1979 diesel which we would all like to forget, and DexCool problem which was partly my fault). Z06 in my future and possibly a Volt for my wife, but plan on keeping my 2.0 SS.
Lets see.....
5 radios replaced......in 1 year.
Sway bar bushings replaced
Countless boost issues.........
A few other issues that were basically minor.
Love the power but looking forward to paying it off more and trading it in.

The only issues I have has that were GM related were the rust on the left door bottoms. One Bow Tie failure.
I did have the upgrade TSB done and had them add the insulation to the HP fuel pump since I saw the TSB for it. Neither were much of an issue but I felt I should have it done.
The other issues I had were due to the spacing of the intercooler and replacment parts that caused the new Upgrade Map to hit the AC. The dealer just needed to move the IC forward a little and that was not GM's fault and not really the dealers since the upgrade was not on when it was installed. I also had the head liner reattatched where they had it appart to replace the seat belt after my accident.
Over all the SS has been a very good car for me.

Two weeks after receiving the car, I took it back to the dealer for a front end alignment due to a slight pull to the left. Dealer did the realignment and said it was off a little bit. They gave me a printed readout from the procedure which did show it was off. They installed the turbo upgrade at this time as well. I have not had any problems with the upgrade install (knock on wood). I also had the Onstar antenna replaced because the seal on the top of the vehicle was gathered under the antenna. Dealer stated the only way to repair it was to replace it. There is a rattle on drivers side under the dash. That has been there since day 1. Dealer could not find it on the 2 times it was in the service department. Only other problem was the brakes, for me mostly excess dust. There is a mountain of complaints about the brakes so I won't explain further. I replaced them myself. The replacements are 100 times better than the originals. So far it has been a great vehicle. I hope that continues.
The only initial problems I had were 2 leaking tires. One return visit to the dealer fixed. After the initial upgrade install kinks were worked out - wiring diagram and sensor hitting the AC compressor. The only other problem I've had is the boost surging and the P0236 codes. As it turns out these issues were self inflicted. My car did not like having an AeroGauge plugging in. Found from going to a new dealer and costing me $150.00. Its been about a month since I removed the gauge and at 55,000 mile the car is running the best it ever has.

Engine wise so far - turbo failure and wastegate a week after i got it with 12k miles on it.
Car wise- new exhaust (due to the chrome was all eaten away and cooked off), new parking brake assembly (mine froze up and has to be yanked up and down since I live on a hill), the 08 Auto no break issue.
Besides that squeak from front drivers side, mechanic not putting my intake fully together so it is now missing a bolt, um... that is it. I have owed it 2 months.

The only isue I'm having right now at 24K miles is the dreaded brake pulsation. The front driver's side brake caliper's making some squealing noises so I'll bring it in when I get a chance. If it needs new brake pads +/or rotors I'm going aftermarket. ***Aside from that I love my SS!!**

My map is out for the 2nd time and I think it took the ECM out with it, again. I have swapped a good map in and it didn't fix the problem so I'm guessing I am going to have the same issue, again. My stereo gets CRAP reception, other small things. I beat on my car alot and the brakes are at almost 40k and no squeeling. Granted, I have the brembos. I have done a TON of slowing down from 100+. 3 times to almost 140mph then hard on the brakes.
