Well, I'm getting intermittent surging, rough idle, boost cut out, all signs point to the GM Stage 1 sensor wiring, however, I'm past my 3-year / 36k mile warranty (38k miles), if I brought this in, would it be repaired under the 5-year / 100k mile power train warranty, or would I be better off fixing it myself?

Your Turbo upgrade is part of the drivetrain. It is a 5 year 100,000 mile warrantry. Take it in and get it fixed.

Remember the non high wear parts in the drivetrain are under the longer warranty. That is why the extended warranty is not so much a must buy in these vehicles.

Tried to get the local dealer to fix it, they claim its only covered by a 1-year 12k mile warranty. I give up on fighting with the dealer(s) about it. Seems like there's a major disconnect in communication with GM dealers regarding GMPP upgrades around here, which is unfortunate because I love the car when it runs well.

However, with my experience with all the local Chevy dealers, this thing is being traded in on a Ford CMAX in about two years, but I will solder the wires myself - sucks to have to fix my own car, when the reason I bought a new car was for the warranty.

Don't listen to them. Most of us are all running fine. You only hear the ones who complain not all the ones who have no issues.

IF the tech does the job right there is no issues.

Go to a different dealer. The service you get is only as good as the dealer you are working with. It does not matter if you are at a Ford, GM or Toyota.

I see so many people here complain about their dealer but they just keep going back? If a DR messed your heart surgery would you go back. There are too many Chevy dealers already so go to another and often the service will be as good as the one I have.

The Turbo Upgrade is under 5 year 100,000 warranty don't let anyone tell you different.

Eh, I've gone through a couple dealers. The one that did the install always fixes it but they're up in Burien.

Luckily I have access to a shop with lift so I'm going to just solder the wires / make my friend do it Thursday evening :).

SS Fan - if you're not doing anything Thursday, you are welcomed to join, the shop is in Gig Harbor, and my friend is a BMW nut.

Just remember if you do it yourself it is your baby if anything goes wrong with the connections.
