The airbag light comes on every once in a while on my Avalanche. During one drive it can come on and go off several times. I suspect it is a loose wire or connection somewhere. I have never attempted to get it looked at.

got it back from the dealership, dropped it off at lunch, was done before I was finished with work.

Tech scan test found Code B0013, R&R steering wheel found white wire to SIR coil shorted to wheel. Replaced SIR coil.

all fixed!

My 2009 HHR now has 38,500 miles on it. We had the air bag light come on once before we hit the factory warranty of 36000, but now the light comes on daily and stays on for long period of times. So have a bad feeling that they'll charge us for a repair because it's over the factory warranty. But we purchased this vehicle because we have a baby and we need it for safety.

So anyone know if the dealership will charge us if we are over the factory warranty?

If they have a record of the previous complaint, they shouldn't.
