Air bag short

A few times the past 2 weeks this chiming sound & a message would pop up on the DIC, " Air bag warning " for a lil bit & then it would go away & come on later, randomly. So, I told my wife, I dont think thats good. So, we took it to the dealer & they said it was wise to bring it in, before it deployed for no reason. A free rental car & 2 days later, (just got it back today ! ) They said the found a short in the air bag circuitry & replaced the air bag & fixed the wiring. Its all good now !

Glad to hear that they got it fixed! Yeah, I think the air bags are one thing I'd really want it to go in for. I want them to go off in an accident, and not go off unless there is an accident!

Did they use DuraSeal connectors or did they solder them?

I could be totally wrong, but I've heard that if the airbag "light" is on, then the airbag will not function in a collision. Probably best that you have it at the dealer. Hope they fix it soon.

You are totally correct, and not just a collision. It just won't deploy period.

That's total BS. Sorry they didn't get it fixed right.

It's good that it won't deploy unexpectedly.
