Ball joints idea?

Couldn't the steering knuckle pinch bolt hole be drilled a tad wider and a larger bolt put in to accommodate for the smaller ball joints?

No, the knuckle could still crack when tightened and the stub would still wobble around in the larger hole possibly breaking the knuckle
