Boost gauge going backwards.

I noticed last night that my boost gauge isn’t working properly. It sits steadily at about 3lbs of vacuum at any speed/rpm, until I give it enough throttle to spool the turbo.

It it doesn’t do anything until about 7(ish) lbs of boost and then it suddenly goes full vacuum all the way until it is reads around 30lbs of “boost”.

Not throwing any codes or having any performance issues.

Has as anyone seen this before? I haven’t touched anything on the gauge pod in about 7 months and haven’t done anything else electrical. It worked fine until it suddenly didn’t.

What did you do to the gauge pod 7 months ago?

Put one in that had an air fuel gauge. So essentially unplugged and replugged it.

Im thinking the gauge is bad.

Well, since you've only changed the one thing, and now that thing is malfunctioning... yeah, I would tend to agree.

Maybe the wires are backwards?

But it's worked fine for 7 months, until recently...

Pretty sure I remember the plug will only go 1 way. Don't think you can get it backwards.
If he has another SS owner nearby, he could "borrow" their gauge for a test. Very simple to pull the pillar pod off.

Found an old picture.
