I was surprised to see that the SS pads are so much smaller than the LS/LT brake pads maybe the SS pads are a little small for the task, my dealer stated it was because the SS has four wheel discs

 

Thanks for the replies. Now that I'm on Medicare I expect to get slightly better mileage than average based on my past experience. I may paint the calipers red which should add 5k -10k miles to the pad life.
