A/C problem

Kay, I was driving, in texas. With a/c ofcorse, started to get warm. Pulled off on the side of the road, popped hood, comp isn't disenguaging. After about two minutes I called dealership backed up til Friday. Got back into my car, blowing ice cold air. Then the a/c compressor blew out freon for a good 5 seconds... randomly hot/ cold air now comes out... ideas?

Might be a seized up compressor clutch, maybe head to a good A/C shop and have it checked out, if you're still under warranty call the dealership service manager to see if you'd be reimbursed for 3rd party repairs.

I'm having problems translating your post.
"comp isn't disenguaging" Do you mean engauging?
"ac compressor blew out freon for a good 5 seconds" I hope not! It shouldn't blow out anything. It is a closed system pump compressor.

I read it as not engaging too, but sometimes the clutches will burn up and the compressor runs constantly, the freon thing confused me also George.

I did not understand a damn thing too. Texas slang?

But it seems to be clutch or other mechanical components of the compressor. If the freon is escaped - the resumption of the cold stream is impossible.

Another might be a bad contact in the electrical network.

In any case - the trip to the dealer.

Compressor clutch seized up then, that'll make 'em blast out refrigerant for sure, thanks for the clarification.

Kay forgot to update.
They replaced the compressor. Yay. Worked for one day.
I haven't seen the a/c clutch enguage/disenguage. And now, when I touch the gas pedal, it feels and sound like power steering pump is bad. Buut there is no ps on here. Won't be back in shop til friday. really getting tired of it being broken lol. It does blow cold air, prolly 55° air. But that whine is bad. Maybe the belt?

Something is going on there, I wonder if they checked out the pressure switch?

The belt is probably not what you're hearing, its the new compressor screaming along at high rpm, or the belt belt tensioner.

I'd say only click on your A/C when you absolutely need to, yeah I know, in Texas that's most every single day.
