EBC - Which pads to use?

Are you guys running red or green on the front brakes? It seems that EBC recommends red for cars with over 200hp. Does EBC make a pad for the SS which I think is larger than the standard HHR? Thanks, G.B.

The SS brake pad is the same size as other HHR models. I use the Delco ceramic pads # 17D1160CH. They stop great, no noise, and virtually no brake dust on the wheels. List price is about $85.00

Same size unless you have Brembo.

I called EBC and he said go with the red and it will perform better and little to no dust.

Yellow is more for if you track drive or autocrosse.

The red is a ceramic.

Thanks guys for your quick reponses. So is it just the front rotor that is larger on an SS vs the standard HHR? My dealer wants a $132 for a set of front pads. These seem kind of pricey for a standard garden variety HHR if they are same as an SS. Thanks, G.B.

Is that $132 installed or just for the pads?

$132 for just the front pads and $285 for a complete front brake job. can you believe that? This was from a dealer that I think has decent prices. They just sold me a GMPP Stage 1 kit for $500.

I think I want to go with the EBC reds.

Thanks, G.B.
