Thanks donbrew, OB & whopper.

Hopefully we can come up with what will/does fit since some here have some miles on them now.

For safety I recommend staying with the Genuine GM part, these stamped steel pieces are just not up to the task!

His problem is that GM sold him the stamped steel arms. GM's books are wrong, too.

My 2012 copy of Mitchell has theses parts numbers for complete LCA for SS & LS/LT. They oddly have a labor rate for ball joints but no part numbers.

I wonder why the R on an SS costs $43 more?

I checked a few sites for the SS part numbers and they state will fit SS and Cobalt and G5???
One place on eBay listed two for $199.00 USD and a load of cars they will fit, so I'm thinking GM parts counter , look em in the eye and tell them what you want and that there is a difference in ball joint size..

I checked a site and used my VIN number it came back with;

25930725 for the left
25930724 for the right
$ 123.57 each.

And generally the pn's are close together. When I checked the 15803767 pn site said that it doesn't fit my 2008 SS-Vin number.

Gmpartsoutlet.net says:
25930725 fits 09-10 HHR SS and 08-10 Cobalt SS
25930724 fits 08-10 Cobalt SS only
15803767 fits 08 HHR SS only

But when I look for 2008 HHR SS it gives me 15787555 & 15787554, then in the description it says for LS/LT. ITHINK THAT MAY BE WHERE THE ERROR STARTS.

Most of the online GM stores use the same parts book.

ebay has a used aluminum 15803767 from an 06 Cobalt SS.
ebay fitment guide says HHR except SS
