HHR SS needing a headgasket already?!
I have a 2009 HHR SS auto, 35450 on the odometer, took it in for it's last factory warranty visit for no head, was told it needed a head gasket! Went to pick the car up, the cashier who releases the customers was more concerned about showing off her cleavage that getting me my keys and paperwork, and now I have a garage floor full of coolant and engine oil. I was told they ran the car through a few heat cycles (based on the paperwork), then took off the oil pan to check for a coolant leak between cyl #2 and #3. So if they ran it through a heat cycle, why did all the coolant run over in my garage? I had a 95 S-10 with the 2.2L engine, that thing went through 3 headgaskets in 100K, but I drove that thing hard. I have yet to even start driving this thing aggressively, should I be unloading this thing if it's going to be a problem child?

to the forum penning4544, wish it was under better circumstances.
A couple things you should do.
1. Call the dealership and speak only to the General Manager, describe what happened in detail.
2. Have them come with a flatbed and pick up your vehicle and return it to the dealership, also ask for a "courtesy car" so you have something to drive.
3. Call Chevrolet customer service at 1-800-222-1020 and give them a detailed description of what happened and the dealer's response.

I'm not too worried about dealing with the dealership, I used to be a service consultant at a German car dealership, so I know that side of things. I'm more concerned about having to do a headgasket already at such low mileage.

Well unfortunately the SS model is a bit high strung and persnickety as the owners here can tell you, but losing a head gasket this early might just be "one of those things". My concern would be damage to the rest of the engine, bearings don't like a mix of coolant and oil, I seem to recall others in similar situations getting new engines under warranty.
